Member Spotlight

If you know a rising star at your center, please consider encouraging them to complete our short ABA Member Spotlight form.  We would love to feature more voices and perspectives from across the burn community in 2026.

ABA 2026 Annual Meeting

A reminder that early-bird registration closes Wednesday, December 17. We look forward to seeing many of you in Orlando as we gather to learn, collaborate, and advance burn care together.

(NEW) Late-Breaking Abstracts

Submissions open January 14 for investigators with newly available data. This brief submission window offers an additional opportunity to share emerging findings at ABA 2026.

Journal of Burn Care & Research (JBCR) Submissions

We continue to welcome submissions to JBCR , which helps strengthen the evidence base and broaden the visibility of burn research globally.

2025 American Burn Association (ABA) Coding Guide (Released 2025)

The updated ABA Coding Guide, released earlier this year, is a key resource for burn centers. Accurate coding is essential for documenting the complexity of burn care, supporting appropriate reimbursement, strengthening financial sustainability, and demonstrating the value of multidisciplinary burn services to hospital leadership. Developed with support from Avita Medical and Vericel Corporation, it includes updates effective January 1, including eight new CPT® codes for Skin Cell Suspension Autograft (SCSA) procedures. The updated guide reflects current clinical practice and coding changes and can help burn teams improve accuracy, reduce denials, and better align documentation with the true scope of care delivered.

Updated Pre-Review Questionnaire (PRQ)

The enhanced Pre-Review Questionnaire (PRQ)  is now available, offering clearer guidance and a more streamlined process for centers preparing for verification reviews.

Burn Care Quality Platform (BCQP)

If your center has not yet engaged with BCQP, we encourage you to explore how BCQP participation can support benchmarking, quality improvement initiatives, and future alignment with verification modernization.

National Burn Awareness Week 2026

Coming February 2026, the theme for 2026 focuses on preventing fires in the workplace. Please consider involving your teams, including participation in the social media video award challenge.
