Advancing Burn Care Practice: A Conversation for APRNs and PAs

Join the ABA’s APRN/PA Special Interest Group for a dynamic virtual discussion on continuing the two-year initiative to develop comprehensive Burn Advanced Practice Provider (APP) orientation materials. The end goal is for these materials to be shared nationally to support institutions that currently lack an orientation program and those seeking to establish or enhance their Burn APP programs.

Agenda:

• Review of New Topics Added to the APP Orientation Guide

  • Electrical Burns

  • Critical Care

  • SJS/TENS

  • Frostbite

• Discussion of Ongoing Topics Needing Completion

• Continuation of Formatting the Orientation Material

Meeting Objectives:

• Evaluate and finalize new topics to be included in the Burn APP Orientation Guide, including electrical burns, critical care, SJS/TENS, and frostbite. 

• Identify and prioritize remaining topics that require further development or completion for the orientation guide.

• Advance the formatting and structure of the Burn APP Orientation material to ensure consistency and clarity for national distribution.

Who should attend: Burn care professionals, including APRNs, PAs, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
